Jerry has been with my family and our family business for as long as I can remember. He has literally seen me grow up through my various stages of life. But it took an unfortunate series of events that really led me to realise the importance of financial planning and insurance, and got me thinking about how to better manage my own. So who better to find than Jerry? And ever since then, things have gotten for the better. To have a mentor that actively makes time for his team is a difficult find - not to mention that Jerry himself is extremely busy. From weekly training sessions to suddenly having to meet someone the next day, Jerry has always put in his 110% effort in making sure that we are constantly learning. It doesn’t matter whether it’s 11 am or 11 pm, you can always contact him. Couldn’t ask for more! | | | | Chris Maik (MOE Educator) & SiQi (Homemaker) Jerry is much more than just our financial advisor. Ever ready to meet with a friendly smile, Jerry understands our concerns and constraints, and regularly keeps in touch to find out if we need to make adjustments as we go though the different phases of our family life. Friends of ours have got to know Jerry through us and they all have positive experiences with him too! His vast knowledge and experience in almost all things Singaporean adults go through makes Jerry a great person to ask advice and recommendations from. Thank you! | | | | Pearl Lim (AIA MDRT qualifer) I became a mother in 2012 and i made many new mummy friends through Facebook. At that time i was looking for an insurance agent to get some plans for my newborn.
That was when I was introduced to Jerry in 2013 by one of the mummies, Irene.
I got some plans for my son, followed by myself and my other family members as we feel that Jerry is a very knowledgeable and responsible person.
Even though he is very busy with work, he would definitely meet in person to process claims or give financial advice.
At that time, I was a relationship manager handing corporate accounts in a bank. He asked if I was interested to become a financial planner and join him in his mission to save more lives and help people in financial planning. I rejected him straight away as I have insecurities about financial stability as a self employed.
It was after the birth of my second child that I started having problems striking a balance between family and work. Subsequently, I left my job at the bank and joined his team in early 2017.
Since then, I never looked back... even though my first 2 years were tough. I am enjoying my job now!
Jerry continues to handle some of my insurance plans, hence, he is now my planner, my friend, my mentor and also my boss. He gives me a lot of freedom in the way I run my business and he will review my performance regularly and update me on my progress for various campaigns and awards and motivate me to achieve more.
Because of his constant support in this career, I am thankful that I was able to achieve MDRT this year despite the pandemic situation. | | | | Eunice Chan (Year 3 AIA FSC), ex-Singapore Police Force I met Jerry in 2021 as a manager of my FSC during that time and Jerry amazed me with his meticulous analytical skills and how he provided quality advice for my financial portfolio. Hence, I felt very assured that my friend - whom is also my FSC at that time, found a reliable mentor and manager.
Moving forward a year later, I approached Jerry when I was considering to join the insurance line, and I never looked back ever since. Jerry has been an extremely supportive leader who is always there for me when I needed both contextual and practical guidance for my work. As a new FSC in 2022, the unwavering support Jerry provided me was beyond what I expected him to do. Till today, whenever I needed help, Jerry never says no.
Thank you Jerry for making me conceptualise that I made the right choice for choosing this industry and for choosing you as my manager/mentor. I am looking forward to many more years to working with you and to achieve greater heights! 💯 | | | | Wilert Goh (Founder at WoodAndWalls) "I came to know Jerry through my brother Andy about 3 years ago. I remember I was intending to get some plans for my workers and seeking business advice too. Not long after, my missus and I have a daughter going to be enrolled into Primary School soon, we were looking for a savings plan that could aid her future education. Therein lies the connection between Jerry and my family. And my business too :)
Jerry is not the first adviser I knew and before knowing him, like many I've had unpleasant experiences not only with the advisers themselves but certain plans that did not turn out ideal for us. So before I met Jerry, my brother knew my expectations and he wasted no time in referring him.
Now if there is an overachiever(Jerry hope you don't mind my using of the term! I meant well) in the Financial Advisor/Insurance line, this man is the personification of the aforementioned term. I place good emphasis on details when it comes to my line of work and I serve my own customers with vigour and passion so in a way, I hope I was accorded a similar service. Jerry patiently fed me so much information that I became gleefully overweight in my head. I totally welcomed that with joy. He explains the plans and dispenses advice not from a personal profitability POV but with my interests at heart.
To cut the long story short, I was immensely impressed by his passion, his neverending thirst for knowledge and not least his love and care for his clients.
I do not have many people I can readily turn to for advice on almost anything. Jerry is definitely in that list" | | | | Hong Yang (Year 6 AIA FSC) Ever since I joined Jerry back then in Oct 2017, he has always been a role model that I looked up to in all aspect. Other than being a leader and a father of 3 girls, he is in the Product Committee & ALMA. On top of all these, he is also a producer in AIA. Despite having to handle so many things, he never once turned down his mentees and FSCs that approached him for help. Instead of spoon-feeding his consultants with direct answer, he would guide the consultants by giving them “homework” to do then learn from it. With all the stuffs that he is currently taking on, I am really in awe with his time management, self discipline and mental strength. To me, Jerry defines “Extraordinary”.
“The difference between Ordinary & Extraordinary is that little extra.” | | | | |
