A Monthly Curated Newsletter

In the last issue, we discussed how robots will change our lives in the future. It has become increasingly important for us to keep our minds on the ball, stay sharp and stay progressive. If half the jobs in 2020 are yet to be known to us, how can we prepare ourselves and our children today? To face a fast changing future, we need to first understand it. We need to try and take a peek into this future and start to embrace change.

What skills does Singapore need for the future economy?

We live in a time when roughly half of the jobs in 2020 are not yet known to us, and conversely, half of the jobs today will be extinct.

Royden Lim (Year 2 AIA FSC, Year 2 SUSS Undergraduate)

Maybe I should start by sharing how I met Jerry before I joined him as an FSC. Jerry has been with my family and our family business for as long as I can remember. He has literally seen me grow up through my various stages of life. But it took an unfortunate series of events that really led me to realise the importance of financial planning and insurance, and got me thinking about how to better manage my own. So who better to find than Jerry? And ever since then, things have gotten for the better. To have a mentor that actively makes time for his team is a difficult find - not to mention that Jerry himself is extremely busy. From weekly training sessions to suddenly having to meet someone the next day, Jerry has always put in his 110% effort in making sure that we are constantly learning. It doesn’t matter whether it’s 11 am or 11 pm, you can always contact him. Couldn’t ask for more!

Matthew (MOE Educator) & Rebecca (Full-time tutor)

Jerry was my (Rebecca) classmate in university and has always come across as a warm and helpful friend. Today, also as our financial advisor, he continues to give timely advice and a listening ear to our concerns. There were instances where we consulted him and his unassuming nature and objective perspective encouraged us greatly in our decision making process. We are thankful that our paths have crossed and we would not hesitate to recommend him to family and friends who are in search of a trusted and reliable advisor. Thumbs up for Jerry!

Shi Hua (MOE Educator)

I've known Jerry for more than a decade. From ex colleagues to friends, he is someone whom one can count on whenever you need advice. To me and my family, he is not just a financial advisor or your typical agent, he is a friend who is always ready to render his help and of course his expertise in his field of profession to make sure that me and my family are well taken care of in our health protection as well as our financial investments. One thing that sets him apart is that no doubts or worries that I have is ever too trivial for him. To him, what ever matters to us, matters to him and he will try his very best to help! So if u ever need a trustworthy and reliable advisor, Jerry is the man!

Shengmin & Vivian (Director & Co-Founder of The Editor's Market)

It was apt that at the intersection of responsibilities as well as financial planning, we were acquainted with Jerry approximately in 2012, when our 1st child was born. Usually heavy topics that encompass disability, critical illness, hospitalization and estate planning, Jerry shares his knowledge in a comprehensible fashion always with a smile. His service orientation towards his clients is a breath of fresh air and I believe many of his clients’ experience would mirror mine. He responds to queries and follows up promptly in a manner that is consultative and not intrusive. Most importantly he listens with an intent to help navigate your current financial situation with your best interest in mind!

Rayney Chew (Retiree, ex-DSO staff)

I met Jerry through a friend many years ago where he took over my policies as my financial advisor. He is very knowledgeable about his work and is able to explain the policies to me in simple terms. He is a professional individual and has been a dedicated advisor as he shares and reviews my policies regularly. It assures me that my family's policies are also taken care by him. I also had some great advice from him in terms of financial and long term life planning. Thanks Jerry for the meetup! As well as helping to take care of my family's policies over the years!🙏🙏🙏

Chris Maik (MOE Educator) & SiQi (Homemaker)

Jerry is much more than just our financial advisor. Ever ready to meet with a friendly smile, Jerry understands our concerns and constraints, and regularly keeps in touch to find out if we need to make adjustments as we go though the different phases of our family life. Friends of ours have got to know Jerry through us and they all have positive experiences with him too! His vast knowledge and experience in almost all things Singaporean adults go through makes Jerry a great person to ask advice and recommendations from. Thank you!
