In meeting the demands of work and every day life, many of us can feel compelled to do all things at once, and may become overwhelmed or less effective as a result. To counter this, it is worth taking a moment to adjust our pace; to give ourselves the space to practice taking one step at a time in the ways we perform our tasks and how we manage our minds & emotions.

Single-Tasking for Productivity and Stress Management

I used to be a big fan of multi-tasking when it became a popular strategy for productivity. The idea of doubling productivity by doing multiple things at once is quite appealing for busy people, and these days most of us are busy people. However, several studies show that in most cases, multi-tasking can negatively affect productivity and efficiency. Here's how.

Patience is essential to daily life—and might be key to a happy one. Having patience means being able to wait calmly in the face of frustration or adversity, so anywhere there is frustration or adversity—i.e., nearly everywhere—we have the opportunity to practice it.

Hong Yang (Year 6 AIA FSC)

Ever since I joined Jerry back then in Oct 2017, he has always been a role model that I looked up to in all aspect. Other than being a leader and a father of 3 girls, he is in the Product Committee & ALMA. On top of all these, he is also a producer in AIA. Despite having to handle so many things, he never once turned down his mentees and FSCs that approached him for help. Instead of spoon-feeding his consultants with direct answer, he would guide the consultants by giving them “homework” to do then learn from it. With all the stuffs that he is currently taking on, I am really in awe with his time management, self discipline and mental strength. To me, Jerry defines “Extraordinary”. “The difference between Ordinary & Extraordinary is that little extra.”

Ernest Toh (Year 2 AIA FSC, Year 3 NTU Undergraduate)

“Focus on your studies, I want you to do well in studies”, that’s was what Jerry told me during our first meet up. That’s when i knew that he is different from other leaders, who cares about the well-being of his associates. I know that I am in good hands under his guidance and very lucky to have him as my mentor. Jerry is very patient and nurturing, an educator at heart. He take time off his busy schedule to conduct training sessions with us and ad-hoc video calls whenever I needed help. He’s always ready to respond to my questions even late at night. Even though my journey have just started, I’m already looking forward to reach greater heights with Jerry and the team.

Jerry is much more than just our financial advisor. Ever ready to meet with a friendly smile, Jerry understands our concerns and constraints, and regularly keeps in touch to find out if we need to make adjustments as we go though the different phases of our family life. Friends of ours have got to know Jerry through us and they all have positive experiences with him too! His vast knowledge and experience in almost all things Singaporean adults go through makes Jerry a great person to ask advice and recommendations from. Thank you!

Hon Van (Accountant, Penta-Chem Services)

We first knew Jerry and his team from 2018, they are not only our insurance advisor but also became our friends. When we have any questions or need any help from them, they will respond to us very quickly, answering all our queries. At the first meetup, my husband and I trust him because of his expertise, his patience and his friendly nature. When any friend ask me about any insurance agent, I am very confident to introduce them to Jerry and his team. Thank you Jerry and your team for everything. :)

Royden Lim (Year 2 AIA FSC, Year 2 SUSS Undergraduate)

Maybe I should start by sharing how I met Jerry before I joined him as an FSC. Jerry has been with my family and our family business for as long as I can remember. He has literally seen me grow up through my various stages of life. But it took an unfortunate series of events that really led me to realise the importance of financial planning and insurance, and got me thinking about how to better manage my own. So who better to find than Jerry? And ever since then, things have gotten for the better. To have a mentor that actively makes time for his team is a difficult find - not to mention that Jerry himself is extremely busy. From weekly training sessions to suddenly having to meet someone the next day, Jerry has always put in his 110% effort in making sure that we are constantly learning. It doesn’t matter whether it’s 11 am or 11 pm, you can always contact him. Couldn’t ask for more!

Yin Peng (Lazada, Vice President)

I was introduced to Jerry by his wife 8 years ago. Back then, I was quite skeptical about financial advisor. However Jerry won me over with his professionalism, dedication and expertise. Today, Jerry is my go-to person for all sorts of issues. He is a very warm and caring person. He had helped me solve / advise me on issues where I could not make up my mind or I have doubts on. I am so glad that our path crossed and I am very grateful to have him as a friend! I would not hesitate to recommend him to my friends who are in need of financial advice!
